Viëtor Yachts at the Caribbean Sailing Regatta 2025

Since 1999, the Caribbean Sailing Regatta has grown from a close-knit group of friends-each with their own boat-to one of the region's most legendary sailing events. What began as an informal gathering is now known for fanatical sailing races, a new bay every night, and the familiar rhythm of Painkillers, Rhum Punch and Carib beers. Behind the scenes of the 2025 edition, Viëtor Yachts played a vital role in making sure everything ran smoothly.

Viëtor Yachts: responsible for the Support Fleet
This season, the fleet consisted of 13 sailing yachts and four power catamarans. Viëtor Yachts took charge of these support boats and assembled an experienced crew:

Hanno - Captain of the mother ship
Pim - Support captain
Noud - Support captain
Charlie - Support captain

Together, we ensured that the support catamarans ran smoothly, arranged the logistics, monitored safety within the fleet, set up the race courses, and organised all activities on both land and water.

7 March - Welcome to Board
We welcomed the full group to the base of The Moorings and kicked off the week with an atmospheric dinner. The mood was high, the rum flowed fast, and the sense of adventure was there!

8 March - Heading towards Cooper Island
After finalising papers in the morning, the first race of the regatta took place-an energetic trip to Cooper Island. The fleet anchored in the beautiful bay, and everyone enjoyed dinner at the Beach Club, surrounded by palm trees and turquoise water.

9 March – The Baths & Prickly Pear
Day two brought two races. The first was a scenic sail from Cooper Island to The Baths, where boats anchored and guests explored the iconic granite rock formations and clear blue pools.
The second race was more technical: challenging navigation through the narrow channel towards Prickly Pear Bay. Fortunately, everything went smoothly. We anchored off Saba Rock Resort that evening, where happy hour and dinner brought everyone together again.

10 March - Anegada Adventure
A long open-water crossing took us to Anegada-a flat coral island known for its pristine beaches, flamingos and laid-back atmosphere.
On land, we arranged 80 scooters and eight Mini Mokes so guests could explore the island at their own pace. We then gathered at the legendary Big Bamboo for a sumptuous lunch and cheerful happy hour.
In the evening, more than 100 guests enjoyed fresh local lobster served on the beach under torchlight. With our feet in the sand and the stars overhead, the atmosphere was magical.

11 March – Flamingo Invasion & White Bay
After saying goodbye to dreamy Anegada, the fleet raced towards Sandy Spit, a movie-worthy sandbank island. For a special birthday, we had a surprise: 100 inflatable flamingos, flown in all the way from the Netherlands.
Guests swam-or floated-to the island for a unique beach party, with our tender service ready to support guests further from the island.

Later, we sailed on to White Bay, where dinner was served at the iconic No Stress Bar. With a bonfire on the beach and a relaxed atmosphere, it was an evening to remember. The tender landings on the beach made for a fun and sometimes wet spectacle.

12 March - Norman Island & Legendary Night
The penultimate race took us to Norman Island, where we anchored in lively Bright Bay. Dinner took place on the beach at Pirates Beach Bar, but the real surprise came afterwards.

Peter Douglas-famous entertainer and Sinatra interpreter-was specially flown in from the Netherlands for a private performance among the stars. His voice and charisma left no one unmoved.

The evening ended with a legendary party at the infamous Willy T's, the floating bar known for its wild nights and unforgettable memories. Viëtor Yachts' tender service remained active until the late hours.

13 March - The Last Sail
With tired smiles and full hearts, we quietly sailed back to the base of The Moorings. Guests had the freedom to chart their own course and further explore the BVI at their own pace.

Back at base, we concluded the week festively with an awards ceremony presented by none other than Miss BVI herself. The sun set on an unforgettable edition of the Caribbean Sailing Regatta.

Until the next...
Viëtor Yachts is proud to have been part of such a memorable event. From coordinating the powercats to setting up races and beach parties-our team was on hand to support the spirit of adventure that makes this regatta so special.
